Stay at home if you have either:
- a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
- a new, continuous cough – this means you've started coughing repeatedly
Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.
You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying at home.
Testing for coronavirus is not needed if you're staying at home.

COVID-19 VACCINE UPDATE - March 2021
We continue to face the Covid 19 challenge, with higher-than-average rates of infection in the local area. Now more than ever it is vital to follow government advice and stay at home unless absolutely essential, follow all social distancing and face covering rules. If you have a new cough, high temperature or loss of sense of smell or taste you must isolate and call 119 to arrange a test.
We are now several weeks into the vaccine program, and with additional vaccines approved our vaccine program will be ramped up very soon. Please allow us to get the most vulnerable protected first. We are currently booking patients that are age 50 and over. You will be called to book your vaccine by the surgery or sent a text message to book your appointment via a link, this may be at short notice.
We have so far vaccinated 3234 patients and still continue to book appointments.

Sadly there have been incidents of scammers charging people for a vaccine – and told it was for Covid 19.. The NHS will never ask for any payment for this, if unsure please call the surgery back to check.
At the surgery we remain open with every patient needing a telephone consultation first, any appropriate follow up can be arranged once the assessment has been completed.

Vaccinating Health and social care staff
NHS England and NHS Improvement have now published a Standard Operating Procedure for the vaccination of frontline health and social care staff. This identifies the people who can currently access NHS Health and Social Care vaccination hubs. This guidance will help organisations plan the rollout, including providing information on prioritisation and delivery methods,
All frontline health and social care workers will be eligible for the covid vaccination regardless of whether they work in hospitals, people’s homes or another setting, or who employs them.
If you are a frontline health or social care worker and want to enquire about your first covid vaccine dose, please do not contact your GP surgery.
If you are working for an organisation please contact them as they will likely have a roll out plan.
If you are self-employed or run a small organisation within the Frimley Health and Social Care ICS footprint, and have not had contact from NHS vaccination services please contact: email@example.com Within your email, please state the number of staff members that need to be vaccinated.
Once your email is received, you will be contacted with details about how to book your appointment.
Please note, you may not get an immediate response as we are booking more than 30,000 health and social care workers in this area so please bear with us.
Getting vaccinated only protects you from the virus, so you will still need to follow IPC and testing measures in your workplace, and follow general advice at work, at home and when you are out and about:

Important information patients about GP appointments - February 2021 update
As you will be are aware, COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is now a pandemic spreading across the UK and the globe. As such, we are taking action to protect our patients, staff and our community to ensure we are able operate. Our aim is to significantly reduce the footfall through our surgery in order to reduce the risk of spreading the virus, in line with national guidance.
All GP appointments will initially be on the telephone.
Our clinicians will do all they can to help you over the phone – however, should they feel the need to see you face to face for an examination, you will be invited to the surgery for review. If needed we will need to take wider precautions to prevent spread of infection, please do not be alarmed by this.
We are currently trialling a new triage system this has been put in place to ensure that patients are booked in with the most suitable Clinician and there is continuity of care.
The 4 questions have been selected by the Clinicians at The Datchet Health Centre of which you will be asked by the Receptionist/ Administrator.
Wherever possible please use the e-consult function. This will reduce the demand on our phone lines as well as allow you to fully detail your symptoms and concerns 24 hrs a day. – Click HERE, you will be contacted the next working day.
Prescriptions are taking longer to process due to the volume and staff shortages. Please allow 4 days for prescriptions to be processed and sent to your designated pharmacy.
Can all patients only request repeat prescriptions they may need within the next week, we will not issue repeats for 4-6 weeks ahead as you should have adequate supply and claiming these too early will cause unnecessary demand on pharmacies.

Everyone is being reminded to follow Public Health England advice to:
· Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.
· Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using public transport. Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.
· Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
· Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.

Welcome to Datchet Health Centre
The Datchet Health Centre serves a population of approximately 10,400 patients and our catchment area is described in the New Patients section of this website. The premises were purpose built in 2000 and extended in 2010 when we became a training practice.
There are two GP Partners, supported by a Salaried GP, a team of long term locums, Paramedic Practitioners, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, a Clinical Pharmacist and a highly experienced practice nursing team who are able to offer a variety of clinics. These clinicians are supported by the reception, administration and management staff, many of whom have been with the practice for more than ten years.
Evening and Weekend Routine GP & Nurse Appointments
We are also able to offer appointments in the evenings or weekends at either King Edward VII Hospital in Windsor or St Marks Hospital in Maidenhead.
