Datchet Health Centre Appointments' System
In order to enhance the availability of pre-bookable appointments the practice changed to a new appointments system in June 2010. 50% of appointments are now available to be pre-booked for the next day, 3 days ahead and 1 week ahead. This decision was taken following an audit of incoming telephone requests and a waiting room survey in April 2010. The practice is still working hard to reduce the number of appointments lost by patients not attending pre-booked appointments and a text reminder system was introduced in May 2010 to support this.
Same day appointments should now be used where a problem cannot wait until the next day to be addressed. A pre-bookable slot should be used where this is not the case. If you need to see a doctor urgently it may not be possible to see the doctor of your choice as not all the doctors are available every session.
Appointments for the practice nurses and phlebotomist are released for booking approximately one month ahead.
The telephone lines open at 8.30am from Monday to Friday and can be busy first thing. Three members of the Reception team are available in the upstairs office to take incoming calls and will answer as quickly as they can. Telephone calls are not taken downstairs because of confidentiality issues. It is advisable for patients wishing to book either a same day or pre-bookable appointment to telephone as soon as they can after the lines open.
Please telephone after 2pm for any test results. We are able to take telephone requests for repeat prescriptions after 2pm where patients are unable to drop in the request slip or access on-line services.
The Old
Windsor Surgery
The Old Windsor Surgery at St. Luke's Hall is a branch surgery held at
11.00 am on Tuesdays. It is intended for elderly patients who live Old
Windsor and who find travel to Datchet difficult. Please telephone
reception beforehand if you wish to attend, so that the doctor can bring
your records along. We prefer to see patients at the Datchet surgery
whenever possible.
