Datchet Health Centre Appointments' System

In order to make it possible for patients to see a Doctor within 48 hours the practice changed to a new appointment system in May 2004.

Currently, 20% of GP appointments are opened for booking two weeks ahead.  The remaining GP appointments (80%) are released either the day before (or on Friday for Monday appointments) or on the day that the appointment is required. This has reduced the number of doctors appointments wasted due to non attendance from an average of 80 per month to approximately 25 per month. Please see the notice in the waiting room and help us to reduce this figure further by cancelling any unwanted appointments.

Patients who are telephoning on the day that an appointment is required should telephone as soon as possible after the surgery opens (8:30am). It should be noted that it is not always possible to see the doctor of your choice. This is because not all the doctors hold surgeries every weekday. We may have to ask you to phone back on another day if you are unwilling to see an alternative doctor. Telephone lines are very busy each morning, but all calls are answered. In view of this please do not telephone for repeat prescriptions or results until after 2:00pm.

Appointments with our Practice Nurses and Phlebotomist are released for booking approximately one month ahead.

The Old Windsor Surgery

The Old Windsor Surgery at St. Luke's Hall is a branch surgery held at 11.00 am on Tuesdays. It is intended for elderly patients who live Old Windsor and who find travel to Datchet difficult. Please telephone reception beforehand if you wish to attend, so that the doctor can bring your records along. We prefer to see patients at the Datchet surgery whenever possible.
